The close relatives of the Canadian citizen or a Canadian Permanent resident are eligible under the Canada Immigration Program. The sponsored person may be related to the Canadian Sponsor in any one of the following ways

• Spouse, common law-partner or

• Parent or grand parent or child or grand child or

• Orphaned, unmarried brother, sister, nephew, niece or adopted child below 18 years of age.

• Or other relative if the sponsor has no above mentioned relatives.
